Built a set of these a few years ago. Bike got stolen so I will have to make a second set this year, had enough Titanium to waterjet cut two pair. The bearings are inside the end of the crank. Next set will be at least 30% thinner than these.
Better access
Got access to an actual computer and did some edits and cleanup of the gallery page.
Caged Dice Tooling
Finished the basic design for tooling we'll use for holding 7/8" cubes for machining. Will build two copies of the fixture so one can be loaded while machining goes on on the other. Hand edited G-Code for cutting the 45 degree notches.
Fixture & Tooling Design
I've been working on the design of a production part and a fixture to hold it during machining. I guess I should say thinking on rather than 'working on' because I don't have a CAD package to use right now. Since I was doing a few calculations old school with an actual pencil and calculator, I thought I'd take a picture for proof. It truly helps to understand trigonometry....... With CAD I could have figures out the dimensions I needed to know in a quarter of the time.
